Site-Responsive Land Design.
Richard brings over 25 years of experience in landscape and land design, combining geotechnical expertise with a deep understanding of land development. Every design he creates begins with a thorough investigation of the site - its soils, slopes, and natural systems - so that solutions are informed, practical, and resilient.

He specialises in designing landscapes for challenging sites, producing plans that are functional, sustainable, and visually striking. By letting the land guide his designs, Richard ensures each project responds naturally to its environment rather than working against it. His work spans commercial, public, and private projects across Canterbury, delivering outcomes that balance engineering, ecology, and aesthetics.

Bishopdale School Landscape Design

Landform Projects Ltd. was commissioned by the Ministry of Education to provide comprehensive master planning, landscape design, and landscape construction supervision for the complete school rebuild.
Working closely with the Ministry of Education, we helped bring the vision of the school community and principal to life, shaping the design of their brand-new school.

Functional, engaging, and visually appealing spaces were created around the new, expansive classroom and administration buildings, providing meaningful outdoor areas for learning, play, and community activities.

Lincoln Primary School.

After years of planning, Lincoln Primary School was finally approved for a major rebuild of its aging and under-capacity classrooms and facilities, completed between 2014 and 2018.

The comprehensive rebuild required a full redesign and reconstruction of the school grounds. The board was fortunate to have the funding to undertake this project and seized the opportunity to significantly enhance the school environment. The redevelopment focused on creating cohesive, low-maintenance, and attractive outdoor spaces that support outdoor teaching, drama, sports, and other activities for up to 750 pupils and staff.
